here's some ideas I came up with for my cheez-it packaging. As far as the structure goes, i decided to stick with a simple or rectangular shape. I did play a little with the functionality though. One has a pull out drawer you can eat out of and one has a pour spout. Cool ideas, we'll just have to see how it works out in real life. As far as the design, I ranged from clean and modern to whimsical and childlike. I tried to keep a feel of the existing brand, however, because it is so strong already. Keep in mind that all the boxes will be the classic red and the logo will generally remain unchanged.
i like 2 and 3. they are simple and straight forward. cheez-its don't need a gimmicky front to sell. also the spout idea in #1 is good but i don't think it would work in #4 because you couldn't re-close it if all the crackers are jamming the flap.
All of your sketches are well designed and thought out. My most favorite one is #4. The design is unique. The box shape design is good in a way that it's not too different than the original box and yet the design on the box is making a tremendous difference. I like how the box opens and the product is right there! GOOD JOB!
I agree with r.a.m, though I think that #4 is kinda of cool. However, I do not know how functional and clear that would be. Have you explore other shapes for the box? Since you would be keeping the logo nearly intact, maybe the form of the container would be the catch.
I like numbers 3 and 4 best. I really like the clean simple look for number 3 and number 4 has an interesting idea with the flap at the bottom. Only thing I am concerned about is how easy it will be to open and close with all the cheez-its going downwards.
